The bustling metropolis of Winona received just under 30" of snow. I feel like my life is a big country song.... I just got my wife back, my car's gone, and everything is mess, but somewhere in the song they mention God... i.e Jesus take the wheel, Black train
Just got my wife back..... On Friday my wife asked me what I thoughrabout her doing ome radio work. "Sure," I replied knowing that the Radio Ministry has a very small window to try to get things done. She asked about the weather....I figured the weather was going to be wrong again. Like it was two days before hand when it was 50 degrees. Then it snowed... mi espouso couldn't even attempt to make it home safely until this morning...
My car is gone... Friday, after I looked outside and it was clear, no snow. Then two hours later checked again and 6-7" fell, I thought, "crap was I wrong"... Well at least I get to make it to my nice warm house... Not sooo.... I drove a 1 1/2 miles up the road(from Perkin's)and my car took a poop. Then I walked to Mike's house and asked for a ride home (which was an adventure in itself) There was nothing that I could do, in the weather, to rescue my car. The next morning when Mike picked me up for work... he told me that it was still there... I was so happy... but as we got closer we saw that there were two tow trucks next where my car is supposed to be...
(I say supposed to be because my car was nowhere to be seen... just a mountain of snow because it was plowed in) Mike asked me if I wanted to stop... I said no because the two tow truck drivers earned their $80 by digging the American Dream (my car) out from all of that snow....
Everything is a mess, but they mention God... So being that my other half was in Menomonie, I stole rides from Mike all weekend, Sunday I ended my shift at "The Perk"
at 12am, I decided that I should walk home. Home from "The Perk" is about 5-6 miles away... it wasn't snowing and there wasn't a wind and I didn't want to wear out my welcome with my friends that were so nice to me... I dreaded it, but a man has to do what a man has to do... It was a great walk and I was so blessed looking and seeing the way that the snow was clinging to the trees. There were places where people used a snow blower and the snow level was at my hip. Along the walk there were places where people didn't finish the sidewalk out to the road and I had to scale a big mountain of snow(I was laughing because I felt like I was in third grade)
My favorite part of the walk altogether was this spot where bunch of rich people live a long the lake and they have these big English Contemporary houses. At this house they have two pillars and on the top, lamps. Then systematically up to the house along the drive and past the guest house that had more lamp posts...and the lamps gave light to these cool trees about 8" tall that collected the snow on their limbs... it was picture perfect... I almost felt like I was in the Chronicles of Narnia, where there is snow everywhere and then there is a lamp in the middle of nowhere.
Altogether it was a crazy weekend with all this snow, but it was a lot of fun in the same aspect...

Wow... look at that post... it almost rivals some of Hermit-be Gones...
So, you had a lot of time to cuddle with Ingrid and Gretchen this weekend, what with the wife being gone and all of that?
I just realized how bad that sounds- it sounds like you've got some German harem on the side for when your wife is out of town! Don't worry, everybody, it's just the names of their two cats!!!
Yeah, Ingrid was really needy as always so it all worked out (^^)
Wowsa! I thought of you guys when I heard you'd had 29.5", but that thought didn't involve your car pooping out, your wife getting stuck up here, Perkins, a 5-6 mile trek, you playing king of the mountain. Nope none of that. But I did think of you all!
(From my nice warm living room)
Definitely did not invlove Ingrid and Gretchen. Nothing personal, though. My thoughts just don't involve the names Ingrid and Gretchen.
It takes all sorts, though, I guess.
I love playing king of the mountain...I think we should get all the groups together and have a showdown...OH YAHHHH!
It would sound much worse if he spent the weekend alone with Hanz and Franz.
Yeah....twaits I agree there would be a lot of explaining to do....
